About us
Legal CORE (Collaboration on Race and Ethnicity) is a leadership-led, cross-firm collective aimed at tackling the underrepresentation of ethnic minority groups in the UK legal sector.
The eight founding firms – Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Freshfields, Herbert Smith Freehills, Linklaters, Macfarlanes, Norton Rose Fulbright and Slaughter and May – came together in 2020 to promote and amplify diversity and inclusion in the sector and jointly tackle the challenges they face in increasing representation.
what we are
01
Independent and law firm led:
We are closer to the challenges that need to be addressed within private practice.
03
A collective force for change:
We will work in collaboration with other existing diversity and inclusion focused groups, networks, organisations and subject matter experts to enhance collective action.
02
Action orientated:
Our intention is not to create a new charter or replicate existing work, but to act as a convening body for law firms and provide a forum to find innovative solutions.
04
Engaging on multiple levels:
That includes senior sponsorship, D&I leads and legal and business services professionals across the sector, ensuring engagement at grassroots level.
The Benefits of Working Together
